Set limits that actually work

Set a monthly bankroll
Decide at the start of each month how much you'll risk. When it's gone, you're done until next month. Never top up mid-month.
Use fractional unit sizing
1–2% of your bankroll per bet. A $500 bankroll = $5–$10 bets. This alone prevents most catastrophic losses.
Schedule betting windows
Only bet during specific times (e.g., pre-game, not during). Reduces impulse bets and chasing.
Enable deposit limits at your sportsbook
Every legal US sportsbook offers deposit, wager, and time limits. Set them before you need them.
Use self-exclusion when necessary
Every state has a self-exclusion list that blocks you from all licensed sportsbooks. Commit for 30 days, 1 year, or 5 years.
